The Iloilo Kisela Knights displayed another brilliant night of chess and swept another day of matches in the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) season II “Wesley So Cup Conference”.

Fresh off a dominating performance against the Iriga City Oragons, the Kisela Knights put on the same offensive attack and was just too much for the Zamboanga Sultans and the Surigao Fianchetto Checkmates who both lost, 16.5-4.5.

Iloilo set the tone from the get-go and had an early commanding lead of 5.5-1.5 during the Blitz category.

Zamboanga tried to claw their way back in the Rapid category but couldn’t handle the all-star showing of GM Hovhannes Gabuzyan, Cherry Ann Mejia, and Fritz Bryan Porras of Iloilo.

The Kisela Knights then replicated their performance against Surigao and asserted their mastery in all 14 playing boards of the clash.

GM Rogelio Antonio Jr., Cesar Mariano, and NM John Michael Silvederio led the Iloilo artillery and provided six huge points for the Kisela Knights in the Rapid category that sealed the matchup.

With the win, the Kisela Knights are currently at the no. 2 overall spot in terms of total points acquired with an impressive 428.5 next to San Juan with 435 points.
