The Iloilo Kisela Knights are determined to raise their second trophy in a row as they swept their opponents in the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) San Miguel Corporation-Ayala Land Premier Association Cup.

With the playoffs already kicking off, the Kisela Knights wasted no time and put in the quick work against Davao, 18-3, and Bangkok, 17.5-3.5.

It was all Iloilo in both matches as they were laser-focused to avenge their loss against San Juan last match day.

The loss broke their 10-0 winning streak in the season-ending tournament but still held the regular season’s no. 1 place in the league.

It was a perfect start for the Kisela Knights against Davao as they swept all seven playing boards in the blitz category.

Iloilo then managed to drop only one playing board in the rapid category and crushed Davao with an 11-3 score in the category.

The Kisela Knights’ offensive show didn’t stop there as they repeated another dominant outing against Bangkok.

GM Rogelio Antonio Jr., WFM Cherry Ann Mejia, Cesar Mariano, and NM John Michael Silvederio led the Iloilo attack against Bangkok.

With the perfect 2-0 match day, the Kisela Knights are now standing at third place in the Southern division with a 3-1 win-loss record and 58 accumulated points.
