The Iloilo Mark V. Pinggol (MVP) taekwondo gym continued its dominant tournament campaign after collecting nine medals during the 2023 National Online Poomsae tournament organized by the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) last April 1-2, 2023.
Fresh off an impressive stint during the 1st Mayor Laurence Anthony Gorriceta tournament, the prized jins mentored by no other than Mr. Pinggol himself stood out among the best of the best in the country.
After the two-day event, the Iloilo MVP gym hauled five golds, two silvers, and two bronze medals in the different categories of the tournament.
Headlining the list of the gold medalists are Viene Marie Dulaca, Anthony Benedict Planta, Fritzjerald Encanto, John Anthony Espina, and Julianna Martha Uy.
Meanwhile, the duo of Justin Adrian Apura and Sirhc Einreb Damaolao did enough to secure the desired points for the silver medal finish.
Last but not the least, those who managed to land the last slot for a podium finish were Andria Margaret Palabrica and Kylie Ellise Olivares.
Despite the fully-loaded competing schedule for the widely-renowned taekwondo gym, the Iloilo MVP squad managed to top their previous tournaments may it be local or national.
Before dominating the 1st Mayor Laurence Anthony Gorriceta tournament, the Iloilo MVP gym was hailed as the best-performing taekwondo gym during the 1st Mayor Stephen A. Palmares Pintados De Passi Taekwondo Championships.
The MVP jins also made waves during the 2023 PTA National CPJ Taekwondo Kyorugi and Poomsae Championships held at the Ayala Malls in Pasay two months ago.
The Pinggol-led taekwondo squad garnered a total of nine medals: one gold, three silvers, and five bronze medals after the two-day event.
