The Iloilo Provincial Public Employment Services Office (PESO) offered 7,585 job vacancies and orders to job seekers during its Job, Tourism, and Migrants Fair on October 11 at the Grand Social Hall of Casa Real de Iloilo.

PESO-Iloilo Head Cynthia Dario stated that the event, in partnership with the Provincial Culture, Arts, and Tourism Office and the Rotary Club of Central Iloilo City, aimed to connect job seekers with both local and international employment opportunities.

The fair featured 25 companies—12 local and 13 overseas—providing various job prospects.

Among the 1,490 local job vacancies available were positions for:

  • Food Handler
  • Sales Clerk
  • Candidate Soldier (CSC)
  • Lead Verification Representative (Call Center Agent)
  • Service Crew
  • Kitchen Crew
  • Front Desk Officer
  • Hygiene Officer

Additionally, 6,095 overseas job orders included positions for:

  • Nurses bound for Saudi Arabia and the USA
  • Teachers heading to Saudi Arabia
  • Waiters, waitresses, and hotel cleaners for Qatar, Saudi Arabia, China, and Malaysia
  • Baristas bound for Saudi Arabia
  • Technicians heading to Singapore
  • Electricians going to New Zealand
  • Coded welders and ship sprayers for the United Kingdom
  • Factory workers for Dubai

“This event is open to all, and our target is to cater to as many applicants as possible. If we can achieve 500 hires, that would be good enough,” Dario said in an interview.

Applicants were advised to bring necessary documents such as clearances and resumes and were encouraged to explore opportunities with the participating companies.

The event also featured trade fairs from six municipalities, showcasing a variety of local products.

This initiative aligns with Governor Arthur R. Defensor Jr.’s development mantra, Movement for a Robust, Progressive, Globally Competitive, and Resilient (MoRProGRes) Iloilo, which aims to enhance employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth in the region.
