Iloilo police reshuffle town chiefs

Three municipal police stations in Iloilo province have new commanders.

Colonel Gilbert Gorero, Iloilo police chief, said they reshuffled the chiefs of police of Leganes, Lambunao, and Dumangas.

Major Roy Tayona was relieved as chief of Leganes Municipal Police Station and took over Lambunao MPS.

Major Joegen Suegay, the outgoing Lambunao police chief, is now the chief of Dumangas MPS.

On the other hand, Major Joeven Arevalo, the chief of Dumangas MPS, has taken over the post vacated by Tayona.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) earlier announced the reshuffling of chiefs of police who exceeded the two-year tour of duty.

“Most of them are overstaying at their post and they needed to be relieved,” Gorero said.

Other officers are waiting their new assignment orders.

These include Major Fernand Limbungan of Maasin MPS, Lieutenant Ma. Doreen Losaria of Badiangan MPS, and Major Raymond Celoso of Sta. Barbara MPS.

Gorero said they are waiting for the local chief executives of the said towns to pick their choice on who will lead the local police.

But in the case of Celoso, it was learned that he might bid adieu to Sta. Barbara after the criminal charges relative to the controversial Claire Diergos slay are filed.
