The Provincial Treasurer’s Office of the Iloilo Provincial Government recognized the top taxpayers for real property and other provincial taxes for 2023 during a ceremony held on Wednesday, June 26, at Zuri Hotel in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
The event highlighted the crucial contributions of exemplary taxpayers to the province’s growth and economic success across various categories.
In his message, Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul Banias, representing Governor Arthur Defensor Jr., assured taxpayers that “not a single centavo of [their] money is wasted.” He emphasized the importance of good governance and elaborated on the efficient use of taxpayers’ money.
On behalf of Vice Governor Christine S. Garin, Board Member Domingo Oso encouraged taxpayers to continue their commitment to tax compliance, highlighting their significant contributions to the province’s sustained development.
“Taxes are the lifeblood of a nation; without them, no government can exist. Your support enables our government to develop and progress, contributing to nation-building and the development of our province,” Oso said.
Provincial Treasurer Jean Maire Umadhay expressed continued dedication to providing efficient and transparent tax services. She noted that initiatives to simplify tax processes and enhance taxpayer support are continually being implemented to foster a positive environment for all taxpayers.
Also present at the event were Board Members Jason Gonzales and Jo Ann Germinanda, as well as several municipal mayors.
