Iloilo Province leads in shabu seizures

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) has surpassed the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6 in the volume of drugs seized.

According to records from the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6, various IPPO units confiscated 824 grams of suspected shabu during the Birada Semana from May 6-12, valued at approximately P5,603,200.

In comparison, the RPDEU-6, known for conducting high-value anti-narcotics operations, seized 430 grams of shabu, worth P2,924,000.

The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) followed closely, recovering 375 grams of shabu valued at P2,550,000.

Meanwhile, the former leader in this area, Negros Occidental, only seized 120.757 grams of shabu worth P821,147.

Other police units reported smaller quantities: Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confiscated 95.1 grams valued at P646,680; Guimaras PPO seized 36.2 grams worth P246,160; Antique PPO recovered 34 grams valued at P231,200; Capiz PPO secured 28 grams priced at P190,400; and Aklan PPO seized 2 grams worth P13,600.

It’s noteworthy that RPDEU-6’s confiscation resulted from just three operations, while IPPO units conducted 19 operations.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOcPPO) conducted the highest number of anti-narcotics operations at 30.

The other units’ operations were as follows: Bacolod City PO with 11; Iloilo City with eight; Capiz PPO with four; Guimaras PPO with three; Antique PPO with two; and Aklan PPO with one.

The series of anti-illegal drug operations led to the arrest of 98 individuals, including 18 high-value targets, 77 street-level pushers, and three newly-identified drug personalities.
