Iloilo Supermart unveils ‘Made in USA’ line

By Mariela Angella Oladive

Iloilo Supermart, in collaboration with the Embassy of the United States, launched a new range of “Made in USA” products across all its branches on July 1.

The launch aligns with American Independence Day today, July 4, bringing a slice of American celebration to the Philippines.

Shoppers can now explore a variety of American-made products at any Iloilo Supermart branch and enjoy exclusive offers, freebies, and discounts until July 14.

Under the banner “Galing USA,” the partnership aims to promote U.S. food, beverage, and other agricultural products in the Philippine market.

The term “Galing,” a Filipino word with dual meanings, captures both the origin (“GA-ling,” meaning “from”) and the high standards (“Ga-LING,” meaning “excellent” or “outstanding”) of these products.

At the Atrium branch, customers who spend P2,000 on “Made in USA” products can avail a complimentary “Galing USA” tote bag while supplies last.

The launch event was attended by Executive Assistant to the Mayor Jay Treñas, Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul Banias, GSO-Department Head of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol Vicente Flores, and other key stakeholders.

Mark Hanzel, Agricultural AttachĂ© of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in his video message, highlighted the significance of the “Galing USA” initiative and recognized Iloilo Supermart as a valuable partner.

“We want Filipinos to experience the quality of American agricultural products,” he said.

The event concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially opening the “Made in USA” event.
