A 62-year-old man was arrested in Tubungan, Iloilo morning of Nov 29, 2021 for a sexual molestation charge.

Jose Bayog of Barangay Ingay, Tubungan, was arrested 8:30 a.m. Monday at Zone 1.

Lieutenant Alwin Salmon, Tubungan police chief, tagged Bayog as the town’s top most wanted person.

Bayog is facing charges for rape under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code as amended by Republic Act 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997) in relation to RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).

Judge Nelita Jesusa Arboleda-Bacaling of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court Branch 72 in Guimbal, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on Nov. 17, 2021.

No bail was recommended for his temporary freedom.

Aside from the rape complaint, Bayog is also accused of violating Section 10 (a) of RA 7610 or child abuse.

Judge Bacaling recommended a P100,000 bail for the latter case.

While the arrest warrant was issued only last week, the case against the suspect was filed last year.

Salmon said that the complainant was around 10 years old at the time of the filing of the case.

Bayog said he has not been working because of some physical restrictions but he did not elaborate.

He has a wife, but the latter has been staying in Guimaras.
