ILOILO Young Boomers captured the title in the recent Futsal Association of Panay-2nd Bga. Marianing Cup U-16 boys Futsal Competition after beating Janiuay Defenders Football Club in the finals, 10-4 at the West Visayas State University (WVSU) gym.
Alex John Doctora and Axel Horst Andres scored hat tricks to claim the crown for the Boomers.
Khent Brian Valenzuela scored two goals, while Adrian Diaz and Rolf Alminaza added one goal each.
Both teams played well in the first half with Janiuay getting an early lead courtesy of John Quint Garrido at the 4th minute of the game.
Iloilo Young Boomers answered with a goal by Doctora at the 5th minute.
From there on, it was the Boomers all the way as they went on a 6-1 blitz with one goal each from Alminaza, Valenzuela, and Doctora and back-to-back goals from Andres.
Sean Mirador put Janiuay in contention with two goals to cut the deficit to 3-6.
But Young Boomers did not waste away the time as Doctora scored his third goal in the game.
Mirador completed his own hat trick at the 31st minute but Valenzuela and Andres converted more goals at the 35th and 40th minutes, respectively.
With his impressive performance, Valenzuela was hailed the Most Valuable Player (MVP), while Garrido of Janiuay Defenders claimed the Golden Boot trophy for finishing the tournament with 12 goals.
