One of Iloilo province’s most wanted persons was arrested on the morning of June 12 in Calinog, Iloilo.

The suspect, identified by his alias Janjan, 36, was apprehended at his home in Barangay Libot, Calinog.

Members of the Calinog Municipal Police Station carried out the arrest by virtue of a warrant for qualified rape.

The warrant was issued by the presiding judge of Branch 76 of the 6th Regional Trial Court in Janiuay, Iloilo.

No bail was recommended for the suspect’s temporary release.

Janjan is listed as the seventh most wanted person in Iloilo province.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) said the arrest is a significant step in the province’s ongoing campaign against crime.

It also supports the Philippine National Police’s commitment to justice and public safety, aligned with the Chief PNP’s policy thrust, the “PRO6 On TOP” initiative, and IPPO’s strategic goal of apprehending fugitives.

Col. Roland Bulalacao, officer-in-charge of the IPPO, commended the Calinog police for their efficient execution of the operation.

He also acknowledged the cooperation of the community, which played a vital role in the suspect’s capture.
