Ilonggo shooting guard Clint Doliguez is finally back in the 5×5 professional basketball stage after signing with the NLEX Road Warriors last January 18, 2023.
Although the specific contract details are yet to be revealed, it is already sure that Doliguez will be reinforcing the Road Warriors in the upcoming PBA Governor’s Cup set to kick off this January 22, 2023.
The former Hua Siong College of Iloilo Red Phoenix star was a former no. 6 pick of the Rain or Shine Elastopainters last 2019 PBA Rookie Draft.
Doliguez’s rise in the PBA draft stock wasn’t a surprise after becoming a vital piece to the dynasty of the San Beda Red Lions.
Under the prized NCAA basketball program, Doliguez clinched a total of two men’s basketball championship titles under the leadership of head coach Boyet Fernandez.
Doliguez had a solid debut year in the PBA after serving as a two-way reserve guard for Rain or Shine but Javee Mocon’s quick improvement prevented his appointment to a starter role.
The Ilonggo sniper last played for the Pioneer Elastosteal in the PBA 3×3 2nd Conference Season II before receiving another chance in the 5×5 scene.
Doliguez is expected to deliver right away in a rebuilding Road Warriors squad that just traded superstar center Justin Chua to the TNT Tropang Giga several days ago.
The NCAA champion will be teaming up with college rival Kevin Alas, Ateneo star Matt Nieto, veteran swingman Sean Anthony, and living legend Asi Taulava.
Calling the shots for the Road Warriors is also a former chief tactician of the Red Lions, coach Frankie Lim who is now under his second conference.
