ILONGGOS bagged three gold medals and a bronze in the dancesports competition of the 2019 Batang Pinoy Visayas Qualifier held at the Holy Rosary Academy in Molo district, Feb. 28.
Out of 47 couples both in Juvenile and Junior (Modern Standard and Latin-American categories), Cliff Justin Pareja and Kealyn Therese Castigador of Iloilo City topped the Juvenile Modern Standard Category C and D.
Aleia Robbyn Muyco and partner Mico Andrie Hechanova also snagged the gold medal in the Junior Latin-American Category A. Japhet Lacuarta and Hanna Catherine Boluso won the bronze in the Juvenile Latin-American Category A. The group is coached by Liberty Porras, Noel Mondejar, Sheila Ann Montero, Jose Micheal Angelo Cabarles, Nero Amorin, and Febrah Mae Tacorda.
Iloilo Province also took home the medals in the competition.
Kyle Eric De la Cruz and Jared Marie Gener won the bronze medal in the Junior Latin Categories C and A. They were mentored by Matthew Balbastro, Juan Paolo Dela Cruz, and Ivan Pailagutan.
San Miguel Iloilo dancers Diane Jane Salvania and Kim Adrian Salanio salvaged a bronze medal in the Junior Modern Standard Category C. They were coached by John Aldren Sajonia and Justin Nories Bautista.
Team Cebu City Niños, on the other hand, got the overall championship after securing a plethora of medals; five gold, nine silver, and one bronze. Mandaue City finished third with two gold medals.
