It’s a solemn inquiry, but one that looks comical to me. What the fuss really is about? The empty seats speak of the hollowness of the probe.
Nobody wants to be counted among clowns in a “circus.” Do you? This was perhaps why government officials did not attend Sen. Imee Marcos’ second Senate hearing that tackles the “legalities” of the Duterte bust by the International Criminal Court (ICC)..
“The government did something to help enforce the arrest,” they whined. So what? It’s the government after all, and it’s a much better one than the previous government? Why make a mountain out of a molehill or out of a non-issue if the main issue were to be taken into account indeed? For what sane purpose is the Imee-led senate show?
It’s like water off a duck’s back — all over. Look how silly and hideous (not only useless) things have metamorphosed just by looking at how the families of dead victims are currently being targeted for varied attacks, vilification and harrassment in social media. Deranged.
I am concerned that the credibility of Senator Imee is thus far shrinking quickly. It won’t take long that no Filipino will believe her anymore because, for one, she’s a sister of the president whose leadership she has been criticizing, lambasting and fighting to high heavens. Mystical.
There’s no amount of drama that will negate open solid facts regarding the matter. And no FAMAS acting that can convince right-thinking Filipinos that she’s sincere in what she’s doing — versus her brother at that. Moreover, for Ms. Imee to play the role of a devil’s advocate, much less the way she’s doing it against her own blood is bizarre and incredulous to say the least.
Kung sasakay man sa issue ang ating butihing senadora, I suggest na sumakay siya nang tama upang sasakyan din siya ng mga matino nating kababayan, at matitino sa media. Isn’t she aware of Lito Camo’s 2018 hit lewd composition, “Sasakyan Kita”?
“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.” – Proverbs 12:15
Dear Madam Imee: Anything that you say and do in opposition to the policies and actions of the government of which your youngest sibling is the Chief Executive, will and should always be taken with a grain of salt if not seen as mere “telenovela” acts — unless you publicly disown your being a Marcos or your being a brother to the president. Ngayon ka lang naman po nagkaganyan. At kapatid mo pa ang nakaluklok sa Malacañang. Fantastical.
How is that for a joke, Mr Juan dela Cruz? Time will come that neither the BBM camp nor the Sara camp won’t take Imee Marcos seriously anymore. Haven’t she wondered (yet) why she lagged behind in recent surveys as a reelectionist senator? Actress Imee appears to be even more unbending, unreasonable and stony than Sen. Bato. People are laughing (inside).
Justice. That’s the real “circus,” and that’s the one single important thing about the ICC-Duterte “clatter and rattle” that noisy, fanatical throngs have been trying to conceive and hatch — to muddle the real issue, sidetrack discussions, stir troubles, and victimize the victims further and more. Panggulo lamang po talaga ang mga panggugulo na ginagawa nila. Ano pa po ba?
Let me state a refreshing probability at this point, dear countrymen: The arrested former president could be having his soul-searching moments inside his ICC detention cell, alone by himself. It could be that he is beginning to come to terms with reality and the truth, unknowingly with God inside his little room. Well, nobody knows. But what could have led him to advise his supporters lately, “Don’t meddle in the ICC case”?
The wheel of justice (and mercy) is finally grinding. Isn’t the Marcos Jr. administration deserving of a “kudos” for what has happened? It’s great and remarkable, a phenomenon — in a time of political hypomania and psychiatry.
Congrats!
