The University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City marked the grand return of Inter La Salle 2025, bringing together over 900 delegates from 15 La Salle schools nationwide for an exhilarating five-day sports event beuing held from January 20-24.
Dubbed Hugpong Hampang, this year’s edition celebrated unity, camaraderie, and athletic excellence through an expanded lineup of sports and activities.
The event featured competitions in basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, football, swimming, chess, and e-sports, the newest addition to the tournament.
Lasallian athletes and delegates participated across these events, hosted at USLS, St. Joseph School – La Salle, and other venues within Bacolod City.
The participating La Salle schools included: De La Salle University, La Salle Greenhills, De La Salle Araneta University, De La Salle Andres Soriano Memorial College, De La Salle John Bosco College, De La Salle Lipa, De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute, De La Salle University – Dasmariñas, De La Salle Zobel, La Salle Academy Iligan, La Salle College Antipolo, La Salle University Ozamiz, St. Jaime Hilario School – De La Salle Bataan, St. Joseph School – La Salle Bacolod, and the University of St. La Salle – Bacolod.
The event also highlighted special Lasallian formation programs featuring SEA Games gold medalist Nikko Huelgas, “One-Armed Mamba” Kat Tan, and Negros Occidental Regional Football Association President Miggy Vilmayor as guest speakers.
A basketball exhibition game between Bahay Pag-asa residents and the De La Salle Brothers, as well as a giant volleyball match, added fun and inspiration to the event.
This year’s revival of Inter La Salle marked the first since USLS last hosted the event in 2020, prior to the pandemic.
