Several police officers and units of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) were given recognition for their outstanding performances.
Dubbed as Pagdayaw Awards, the recognition is given to individual policemen and units that posted big accomplishments in operational and administrative aspects of police service for the first quarter of 2023.
The ceremony for Pagdayaw, a Hiligaynon term that means “giving appreciation,” was held on Friday, May 5, at the IPPO headquarters at Camp Sumagaysay, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo City.
Major Rolando Araño, IPPO spokesperson, said the program was initiated years back as a way to honor those who have shown outstanding performance.
For the Individual category, Chief Master Sergeant Ammie Aguilar of Dueñas Municipal Police Station was recognized as “Best in Administration” while Sergeant Master Sergeant Philip Adrias of Carles MPS was awarded “Best in Intelligence.”
The “Best in Operations” award was given to Corporal Michel Diño of Estancia MPS; Best in Logistics went to Chief Master Sergeant Joebert Casabuena of Pavia MPS; Best in Police Community Relations (PCR) was bestowed on Master Sergeant Stephanie Jamoyot of Pavia MPS; Best in Finance to Senior Master Sergeant Ricky Paypon of Cabatuan MPS; Best in Investigation to Staff Sergeant John Marvie Nomus of San Dionisio MPS; Best Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) to Staff Sergeant Julet Sumagpao of Passi CPS; and Best in LDD to Corporal Ruel Dogomeo of Passi CPS.

1st Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company – Best Mobile Force Company
Santa Barbara MPS – Best in Crime Clearance Efficiency (Class B Municipality)
Guimbal MPS – Best in CCE (Class C Municipality)
San Joaquin MPS – Best in Crime Solution Efficiency (Class B Municipality)
Zarraga MPS – Best in CSE (Class C Municipality)
Lambunao MPS – Highest Accomplishment on Arrested Most Wanted Persons
Estancia MPS – Highest Accomplishment on Arrested Other Wanted Persons
Estancia MPS – Highest Accomplishment on Anti-Illegal Drugs Operations
Janiuay MPS – Highest Accomplishment on Campaign Against Loose Firearms
Tigbauan MPS – Highest Accomplishment on Campaign Against Illegal Gambling
Concepcion MPS – Highest Accomplishment on Campaign Against Illegal Fishing
Zarraga MPS – Highest Accomplishment on Campaign Against Illegal Quarry
Tubungan MPS – Lowest Average Monthly Crime Rate (AMCR)
Cabatuan MPS – Most Number of Search Warrants Served
Passi City PS – WCPD with Highest Filed Cases
Meanwhile, the Estancia Police Station is the No. 1 best unit Police Station while Carles MPS bagged the number 2 spot and Tigbauan MPS in third place.
