The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) is intensifying its efforts against criminality, and the challenge now is to maintain this momentum.
Despite the arrests made, “there’s more reason for us not to be complacent in our anti-criminality campaign,” said Colonel Bayani Razalan, Iloilo police chief.
Razalan attributed the notable achievements to the dedication and hard work of IPPO personnel.
IPPO records show that it conducted five anti-illegal drug operations from July 8 to 14, 2024.
These operations led to the arrest of five drug peddlers, including one high-value individual, and the confiscation of 287 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1,951,600.
Aggressive manhunt operations resulted in the arrest of 25 wanted persons, including one most wanted person.
Additionally, an anti-illegal gambling operation led to the arrest of one person and the confiscation of P2,500 in cash bets.
In the campaign against loose firearms, IPPO arrested two individuals and confiscated two guns.
Two unlicensed firearms were surrendered, and another gun with an expired license was deposited at police stations.
Meanwhile, six anti-illegal fishing operations resulted in the apprehension of 15 fishermen and the impounding of seven motorboats.
Six truck drivers and six delivery trucks were also apprehended for violating the Provincial Anti-Illegal Quarry Ordinance.
Razalan emphasized the significance of the active partnership between the PNP and the community in the success of all anti-criminality drives.
“The success of all our efforts relies not only on our dedication and professionalism but also on the continued support and cooperation of our beloved Ilonggos. Together, we shall work steadfastly towards a safer, more secure, progressive, and drug-free Iloilo Province,” Razalan said.
