The suspect behind the killing of Kristopher Cabalquinto, whose body parts were chopped and left in three different places in Iloilo City, remains a mystery to authorities.

With no known enemies, Cabalquinto had only intimated to his family that he dated a certain Love-Love from Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao, Iloilo.

This prompted police investigators and even Bolilao barangay officials to look for Love-Love.

At least three women from Bolilao with the nickname Love-Love were asked if they knew Cabalquinto.

They all denied knowing the slain man.

But recently, police learned that Love-Love was a resident of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao but later transferred to Barangay Lanit, Jaro.

“Our policemen tried to look for her but she had not been home at around the time Cabalquinto’s chopped body parts were found,” Colonel Joeresty Coronica, Iloilo City police chief, said.

Was Love-Love involved or had knowledge of Cabalquinto’s death?

“That we have to find out,” Coronica said.

It was gathered that Love-Love had been accused of qualified theft in Jaro district in 2021.

A special investigation task group (SITG) was formed to probe the circumstances surrounding Cabalquinto’s death.

The SITG held its first meeting afternoon of Nov. 10.

It can be noted that Cabalquinto’s death hogged the limelight owing to the fact of how brutal he was killed.

The 32-year-old victim’s two arms were found at Zone 2, Barangay Ticud, La Paz around 6:10 a.m. on Nov. 6.

His headless body was recovered at Zone 1, Barangay Buhang, Jaro district at around 8:32 a.m.

On the other hand, his head was recovered afternoon of Nov. 7 at Quezon Street, Arevalo district.
