Former National University Lady Bulldogs and Gilas Pilipinas women’s superstar Jack Animam showed Taiwanese team Shih Hsin University that she was worth the acquisition after leading them to a dominating 115-44 win against Taiwan University in the University Basketball Association.
The seven-month layoff did not bother the towering center after pounding her way inside the paint to finish with 18 points and missing only 1 of her 8 attempts from the field, six steals, five rebounds, and three blocks.
Animam bulldozed every defender Taiwan University threw at her and showed her variety of skills at the post to impress Shih Hsin with offensive skillset.
Animam’s presence underneath is expected to be a big factor in Shih Hsin’s quest to defend their championship.
The 21-year-old center’s versatility was also on full-display after leading her team in the steals department while also showing her ability to defend the rim after rejecting three shots, a sight very familiar to the Lady Bulldogs during her stint playing with them.
Animam’s teammates Lin Die and Chen Yuti backstopped her with 18 and 16 points respectively on top of an efficient scoring performance as a team with a 54% shooting rate.
