FRESH from his prison stint, a 25-year-old man was arrested anew early morning of Sept. 16, 2019 in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
Joey Rubinas was collared at his house at Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao around 5:45 a.m. of Monday.
Police Major Marlon Valencia, Mandurriao police chief, said Rubinas was released from jail two weeks ago for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act)before his arrest.
After he went out of incarceration, Valencia said police monitored that he was involved in the illegal drugs trade.
Rubinas yielded seven sachets of suspected shabu and P10,000 marked money.
Valencia said that the suspect is considered a newly-identified drug personality. Police have yet to determine his source.
It remains unclear if he dabbled in drugs after establishing contacts inside the jail.
Rubinas denied that he was into illegal drugs. He claimed that he was surprised when the alleged recoveries were neatly placed on top of the table.
Rubinas said he was not even into illegal drugs use.
The suspect is now detained and will be charged for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
