James Delos Santos cannot be stopped in his ultimate dream of taking over the world no. 1 spot in virtual kata.
After a series of victories, clinching gold after gold in his past stints, the current world no. 2 ranked karateka continued his dominant steak and had another gold medal finish in the Venice Cup.
The prized karateka unleashed all the tricks in his bag to edge Slovenia’s top karateka, Nejc Sternisa, 25.2 to 23.7.
Before prevailing over Sternisa, the Filipino had a tough road to the finals after facing Canada’s Scott Taylor and Luxembourg’s Kevin Petry in the elimination rounds.
With the victory, Delos Santos clinched his 12th gold of the virtual kata series and is expected to keep it close with world no.1 Eduardo Garcia after the Venice Cup points will be registered.
Delos Santos hopes to maintain his hot showing for the next virtual kata tourneys and aims to clinch the top spot before the year ends.
