The biggest hoops league in the City of Love is back for more treat.

After a successful developmental league, the JB Amateur Basketball League (JB ABL) will return to action this Sunday, September 1, 2024, for the official opening of the second installment of its Inter Ball Club Invitational Conference.

Eight competing teams will attend the opening ceremony on Sunday to be held at the Green Meadows 2 East basketball gym in Iloilo.

“We are inviting you to visit the opening of our JB ABL Inter Ball Season 2. On a Sunday, bring your families, and let’s bond together through the sport that we love,” said JB ABL commissioner Jayphet Balbacal in an exclusive interview with the Daily Guardian.

The teams that will vie for the championship title are, LEPRECHAUNS x TUNESQUAD, JB ABL Academy, Alta Tierra Village Basketball Club (ATVBC), Titos ball club, BLACKHAT, Iloilo Tuesday Club (ITC), Bonifacio Basketball Club (BBC), and the Molo Community Basketball Club (MCBC).

Team LEPRECHAUNS, Last conference’s runner-ups, will join once again and seek to finally grab the trophy in this year’s Inter Ball season.

In line with JB ABL’s mission and vision, this Inter Ball Club Invitational was organized to keep the tradition of strengthening Iloilo City’s ball club scene.

With all the big leagues and the commercial competitions that the Ilonggos are used to, this JB ABL Inter Ball Club will serve as a fresh avenue for players who want to increase their hoops network in the city and enjoy the game to the fullest.

“Ari ni, ang aton inter ball, amo ni ang ma serbe as a relaxation para sa aton mga veteran ballers nga gusto mag pa sundayag hampang asta makapoy sila. Kidding aside, gn tingwaan ini nga matabo para may equal playing field ang aton Ilonggos nga ara sa mga ball club. Aside sa format sang aton liga nga maka assure nga tanan players maka sulod, we also seek sang masadya lang nga vibe while playing sang basketball,” closed commissioner Balbacal.
