JCI, BPI help Ati community in Iloilo

The Junior Chamber International (JCI) and BPI recently went to the Ati community in Sitio Nagpana in the town of Barotac Viejo, Iloilo to bring much needed help.

Japanese national Kiyota Watanabe raised funds for the machines and other inputs needed to help export the products of the Ati community.

The group donated machines to process their products like coffee and held a food feeding activity.

A product enhancement workshop was also conducted for the Atis’ nito products. Glorys Cafe and Torrani Philippines also taught the Atis to add flavors to their coffee products.

Packaging improvement is also important to make their coffee more saleable.

The group also planted 300 cacao and 100 fruit bearing tree seedlings and vegetables for their daily consumption.

They will also hold seminars such as iWash, zero open defecation program, and will donate sanitary toilets once the enhanced community quarantine is lifted.
