BACOLOD City – Police are eyeing the live-in partner of a woman as a person of interest behind the latter’s death at Hacienda Cuaycong, Barangay Punta Mesa, Manapla, Negros Occidental last Saturday.

The victim was identified as Virgie Sabordo, 54.

Police Major Jaynick Bermudez, town police chief, said Sabordo was found lifeless by her live-in partner when the latter came home from a wake.

Bermudez said that according to the victim’s live-in partner, an unidentified man stabbed Sabordo inside their house.

The victim, who suffered a stab wound in the stomach, was declared dead at Dr. Gustilo Hospital.

Bermudez said that based on their investigation, the victim’s live-in partner allegedly made up the story to escape from the said crime.

“Nag drama lang siya,” he added.

But Bermudez said that nobody was able to witness the incident.

Prior to the incident, the couple allegedly had an argument about the jealousy of Sabordo’s live-in partner.
