Jeremy Pacatiw lived up to the hype and expectations after making his grand debut fight at ONE Championship.
Team Lakay’s next rising star steamed-roll his way to a unanimous decision win against “The Ghost” Chen Rui during ONE: BATTLEGROUND and was quick to introduce his name in Asia’s biggest Mixed Martial Arts promotions.
Coming off as a superstar at BRAVE CF’s bantamweight division, the highly-anticipated bout between Pacatiw and Chen was more of a one-sided fight as the Filipino had an easy time picking the Chinese apart.
After the fight, Pacatiw didn’t hesitate to call out the name he wanted to fight for his next bout. It was John “Hands of Stone” Lineker.
“Gusto kong subukan si Lineker. Nakita ko ang paghandle niya ng pressure and talagang ‘Hands of Stone’ siya. Yung technique ko sa laban, tingin ko medyo mahihirapan siya,” said Pacatiw.
Lineker is one of the most hard-hitting punchers ONE has ever seen and it was evident in his past matches where his one heavy punch can turn things around.
The Brazilian mixed martial artist also handed defeat to one of Team Lakay’s biggest stars in Kevin Belingon after sharing the ring together last November 2020.
It was seen in the fight how Lineker used his timing and reach advantage to tag Belingon several times and landed heavy bombs to take the victory away from the Filipino.
However, Pacatiw had different plans and thinks he can fairly match up against the Brazilian hard-hitter.
“Yung goal ko is to be on the top. Kung sino man ang ibibigay ng ONE Championship is tatanggapin ko. Ang gusto ko lang manalo ng manalo. Sa next na laro, makikita niyo ang next version ng Jeremy ‘The Juggernaut’ Pacatiw,” he added.
