Over 20,000 government jobs in 120 agencies will be available for Filipino job seekers, especially new graduates as JobStreet by Seek and the Civil Service Commission teamed up to launch an online job fair.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced these job openings in government organizations with various roles from administrative work, to information technology, and medical, among others as it partnered with JobStreet by Seek for the third time to encourage Filipinos to join the Government Online Career Fair (GOCF) 2022, from Sept 14 to 23.
JobStreet said that the goal of the partnership was to help and empower the new graduates and to give talents access to relevant jobs in the government using digital tools available today as young talents and fresh graduates are mostly facing challenges when it comes to job hunting due to COVID-19 pandemic.
“For two years since the pandemic, JobStreet and the Civil Service Commission have successfully helped Filipinos find government jobs through online channels. With this year’s online career fair, we hope we’ll be able to empower more candidates with future-ready opportunities,” JobStreet Philippines Country Manager Philip Gioca said during the virtual press conference.
JobStreet also underscored that the fair is an opportunity for job seekers to establish a steady career progression and networking opportunities while finding a sense of purpose through helping the nation.
CSC Commissioner Aileen Lourdes A. Lizada also said that the online job fair will not bypass any hiring procedures but it will cut short the process because the mandatory 90-day publication for job openings of various government agencies has already been satisfied through the online platform announcement.
According to Lizada, the entire hiring process from the selection of the application could take a month or two but noted that two months should be long already.
Lizada also emphasized that some of the positions available do not require experience nor civil service eligibility with salary grade one, step one as the minimum entry-level salary.
The government Online Career Fair is also part of the celebration of the 122nd anniversary of civil service in the Philippines as it will be joined by more than 120 government agencies, including, the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and Commission on Elections (COMELEC), among others.
Since 2020, the GOCF has attracted over 200,000 participants, 127 government agencies, and 34,000 job roles posted on both JobStreet and on the GOCF platform.
JobStreet by Seek also reported over 900,000 web visits during the fair that helped Filipinos with their employment.
