Jordan Accounts for 71% of Guimaras Live Births in 2024

GUIMARAS – Jordan recorded 2,845 live births in 2024, accounting for 71.46% of the total 3,981 births registered in the province, according to the latest Decentralized Vital Statistics System (DVSS) data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office.

The total number of live births in 2024 marked a 5.19% decline from 4,199 births recorded in 2023, PSA Guimaras Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.

Jordan registered the highest number of live births, followed by Buenavista with 712 births (17.88%) and Nueva Valencia with 374 births (9.39%).

Sibunag recorded the lowest number of births, with only 17 registered, accounting for 0.43% of the provincial total.

“Despite the overall decrease in registered births, Jordan continues to dominate birth registrations in the province, underlining its significant contribution to population growth,” Losare said.
