Despite failing to clinch the Philippines Football League (PFL) 2020 title, the boys from Kaya FC-Iloilo made sure to end their season on a high note with an emphatic win over the newly crowned champs, the United City FC that rusted their perfect undefeated record in two years.

It was all business for the Iloilo-based squad as they wasted no time setting up their familiar fast-tempo offensive attack that caught United City off-guard defensively.

With just 14 minutes in the opening half of the most-anticipated showdown in the 2020 PFL bubble, Kenshiro Daniels opened the scoring off a beautiful cross from Eric Giganto.

The action did not stop after Kaya’s Carlyle Mitchell headed a Daniels’ corner kick in the 38th minute which doubled the lead, 2-0.

United City FC managed to make things interesting after Manny Ott found the back of the net in the 83rd minute of the game.

The defending champions attempted for an equalizer in the last minutes of the game but Stephan Shrock wasn’t able to convert.

Kaya FC’s victory also put them in solo second-spot honors, overtaking the young and promising Azkals Development Team.
