After defending their home pitch against the Philippine Air Force FC at Iloilo Sports Complex, Kaya FC Iloilo will look to complete a sweep as they face again on September 25, 2019.
Although the home team won 2-1, the Ilonggo fans were left nervous in the first game as the Air Force FC had multiple attempts to equalize during the match.
Kaya FC on the other hand, also had numerous attempts to add to their goal tally but could not convert.
Darryl Roberts had two attempts that might have been tallied goals but was saved by Air Force’s goalkeeper.
One of the attempts left the whole crowd standing and shouting as Roberts sprinted to the opposite goal alone, but did not pull the trigger inches before he came into the box, rather, he continued to dribble the ball until an Air Force defender disrupted the play preventing a clean strike.
Aside from winning, Kaya FC is also trying to keep up with their scored goals in the hopes of overtaking rival Ceres-Negros FC for the top spot.
The local players will have to step up in the absence of star striker Jordan Mintah, who has provided the bulk of his team’s conversions in the past games.
Expect a more determined Kaya FC-Iloilo team that seeks to leave their Ilonggo fans on a positive note.
