Kiefer Ravena has signed a contract extension with the Yokohama B-Corsairs, marking his second season with the team and fifth overall in Japan’s B. League.

The 31-year-old Filipino guard confirmed the news through a statement released by the club, expressing his excitement and renewed commitment to leading Yokohama to a title run.

“I’m excited to go back to Yokohama and play next season,” Ravena said.

“We want to be a championship team and I believe we have the chance to do so. I hope we can stay healthy and bring a championship to Yokohama.”

Ravena joined the B-Corsairs last year after three seasons with the Shiga Lakes and replaced fellow Filipino Kai Sotto as the team’s Asian import.

In his debut season with Yokohama, Ravena averaged 9.8 points, 3.8 assists, and 1.9 rebounds in 23.8 minutes per game over 53 appearances.

Yokohama finished the season with a 24-36 win-loss record, missing the playoffs and struggling with consistency throughout the campaign.

Ravena’s performance was affected late in the season by a leg injury that caused him to miss seven games.

Despite the setback, the former NLEX Road Warriors star is set to return with high hopes and a bolstered roster.

Yokohama will also feature former Meralco Bolts import Seiya Ando in the backcourt alongside Ravena for the upcoming season.

Ravena continues to be one of the Philippines’ top basketball exports, following the trend of Filipino players making a mark in Japan’s professional league.

Just last week, Kai Sotto signed his own extension with the Koshigaya Alphas, showing a growing trust in Filipino talent across B. League teams.

Ravena, a product of Ateneo de Manila University and a former Gilas Pilipinas mainstay, remains focused on elevating Yokohama’s standing after a rebuilding season.

While a title has remained elusive in his stint abroad, Ravena’s leadership and experience continue to be a cornerstone for his teams in Japan.
