ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A Korean national accused of illegal recruitment by several Capiceños last year was arrested by police in Olongapo City.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Olongapo and Zambales Field Units collared Kim Tae Hyoung and Cynthia Raboy on June 29, 2020 in an entrapment operation.

More than 200 individuals accused Hyoung and his Capiceña girlfriend Ramilyn Andrade of illegal recruitment.

Most of the victims underwent schooling on Korean language as one of the requirements before being accepted for jobs in South Korea.

The suspect is also facing several complaints before the Castillejos Municipal Police Station in Zambales regarding his alleged illegal recruitment activities.

The complainants from Capiz claimed that Ramilyn Andrade of Brgy. Bolo here and Hyoung are nowhere to be found after promising to send them to South Korea to work in factories in exchange for placement fees.

Some of the complainants, who came from Bacolod City, Iloilo City and Kalibo in Aklan, sought the help of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Capiz.

According to them, LG Santon Company failed to bring them to Korea despite paying their placement fee, terminal fee, and insurance.

It was learned that each jobseeker paid P75,000 to Andrade and Hayong.

According to Police Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles, public information officer of Roxas City PNP, Andrade promised them jobs in South Korea with a monthly salary of P130,000.
