The Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) has presented its translated nutrition materials to the National Nutrition Council (NNC), marking the first phase of a collaborative project aimed at enhancing health literacy across linguistic communities in the Philippines.
The materials were translated into Hiligaynon, Bikol, Cebuano, and Ilokano, ensuring accessibility for a wider audience.
The presentation was led by KWF Chairman Arthur P. Casanova, KWF Translation Branch’s John Enrico C. Torralba, NNC Deputy Executive Director Atty. Rosalina Bascao, and OIC Queenie Rose G. Amoso-De Jesus.
The NNC prioritized materials that are urgently needed in the regions, while the KWF ensured that translations were in widely spoken languages to maximize impact.
The initiative, set to run until 2028, supports the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 and strengthens the government’s dedication to promoting language inclusivity in public health initiatives.
