The De La Salle Green Archers and head coach Derrick Pumaren aren’t done with their off-season moves.

After acquiring the services of several top recruits such as Kevin Quiambao of the National University Bullpups and former Hua Siong College of Iloilo superstar Mark Nonoy from UST, another big name is set to dazzle the UAAP.

Former NCAA Division I hooper Deschon Winston from the Central Michigan University will officially wear the green and white once the UAAP season starts.

“Actually, he already played three years in college. We are in the process of enrolling him in La Salle’s graduate program,” said Pumaren.

The six-foot-four guard was one of the highly-touted high school players during his time after delivering the first-ever City Section Open Division Championship for the Birmingham High School.

Winston then joined the University of California, the City College of San Francisco, and the Central Michigan Chippewas.

“We can use him to help Nelle and Nonoy bring down the ball. He brings an added dimension to the team,” added Pumaren.

However, the resume of the UAAP is still uncertain and is still up to the hands of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) with COVID-19 cases still plaguing in the country.
