Veteran point guard LA Tenorio just revealed an exciting piece of news to his basketball fans.

After missing active basketball activities during the past months because of his battle with stage 3 colon cancer, the star floor general of the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel announced that he will be suiting up for his PBA mother team this October 2023.

Tenorio made everything official during San Miguel Corporation’s vlog ‘Sa’n Si Miguel’ and confirmed that he is ready to go back inside the PBA hardwood and help Ginebra win another championship title.

Last conference, the Gin Kings were close to clinching a three-peat championship feat but all their hopes came crashing after the Rondae Hollis-Jefferson-led TNT Tropang Giga squad eliminated them in the grand finals.

During that series loss, Ginebra missed Tenorio’s services who would’ve added more depth and leadership if he was able to orchestrate coach Tim Cone’s sets.

In retrospect, Tenorio explained that he used his aggravated sports hernia injury to cover up his cancer diagnosis, a thing he was deeply sorry for when he surprisingly disappeared for Ginebra heading into their PBA semifinal matchup against the San Miguel Beermen.

“With my profession in sports tied in health and entertainment, it will be very difficult to keep the real reason a secret any longer and will only lead to unnecessary gossips, fake news & misinterpretations,” Tenorio said.

Tenorio shared that he is flying to Singapore every two weeks just to have his chemotherapy and said that he is near to reaching his optimum health level.

However, the PBA multi-champion said that he still needs to follow the advice his doctors are giving him and must be patient on his road to recovery.

Currently, Tenorio is still involved in Ginebra’s internal matters and was a very active voice on the sidelines during their finals clash against the Tropang Giga last conference.
