Laborer Arrested for Rape in Antique

A laborer from Anini-y, Antique, was arrested following accusations of sexual molestation.

Alias Bernard, 50, was arrested at his home in Barangay Bayo Pequeño, Anini-y, around 3:20 p.m. on October 7.

Members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) – Antique Provincial Field Unit, along with the Anini-y Municipal Police Station, apprehended the suspect based on an arrest warrant for qualified statutory rape under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1(D) of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 11648, docketed as Criminal Case No. 2024-09-11082.

Judge Ernesto Labio Abijay Jr. of Regional Trial Court 6 (RTC-6), Branch 10, San Jose, Antique, issued the arrest warrant on September 30, 2024.

No bail was recommended for his temporary release.

Bernard is listed as the number 6 most wanted person in Western Visayas.

He is now in the custody of CIDG-Antique for the proper disposition of his case.
