A 54-year-old laborer was arrested in a police operation early on Feb. 23 in Pandan, Antique.
The suspect, identified only as “Richard,” was apprehended at his house in Barangay Candari around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.
Members of the Pandan Municipal Police Station carried out the operation under Search Warrant No. 2025-01, issued by Judge Josefina Fulo Muego of Regional Trial Court Branch 13 in Culasi, Antique, for violations of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Authorities recovered a bolt-type .38-caliber pistol with six rounds of ammunition, two 12-gauge shotgun shells, an upper receiver of a homemade 12-gauge shotgun, and three steel pipes.
A case for violating RA 10591 was filed against the suspect on Monday, Feb. 24.
