Partido Reporma presidential candidate Panfilo Lacson and vice-presidential bet Senate President Vicente Sotto III storm vote-rich Negros Occidental, the latest in their sorties meant to consult with the people.
The tandem has distinguished itself as being the only contenders who have openly expressed the intention to seek the country’s highest post and have presented a clear platform of governance.
It is the only team that embarked on a hybrid campaign called Online Kumustahan (OK).
OK features multi-points of locally-organized rally sites through the Zoom app. Here they are given the chance to interact with the Lacson-Sotto tandem and their senatorial slate.
The entire event is aired over social media platforms like Facebook and Youtube.
At least 23 sites were put up in the entire Negros Occidental with 5.500 participants.
Lacson and Sotto, as well as select senatorial candidates, will be at the Barangay Tangub Community Center in Bacolod City at around 2PM.
Lacson and Sotto are expected to present to the people a platform of governance that gives provinces and local government units the power and funding to pursue development projects. Their visits are also meant to answer the concerns of the people and draw ideas from them to perfect the tandem’s roadmap to development.
“What the Lacson-Sotto tandem wanted is to continue touching base with constituents, to get a feel of their problems and concerns and to answer questions they may have, but without putting anyone’s health at risk,” Lacson’s campaign spokesperson Francisco Ashley Acedillo said.
The team’s OK events in Rizal and Laguna were successes.
