A woman who was into the money lending business was shot dead evening of April 2, 2022 near a mall in Pavia, Iloilo.

Ludivina Frange, 50, of Barangay Ungka 1, Pavia, succumbed to a lone gunshot injury on her neck.

The Pavia Emergency Responders (PAVERS) took the victim to Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao, Iloilo where she was declared dead on arrival.

Investigation indicated that only one assailant killed Frange while she was outside a mall in Barangay Ungka 2.

The incident happened around 7:55 p.m. as the victim was on her usual collection of loan payments.

The suspect, who was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and driving a black scooter, approached her.

Witnesses claimed they later heard the victim saying, “Sige lang. Imo lang na kwarta mo. Indi ko kinahanglan kwarta mo (It’s okay. You can keep your money. I don’t need your money.)”

She then walked to her parked motorcycle.

But the suspect quickly followed, pulled a gun, and shot her.

Major Rolando Araño, Pavia police chief, said the victim was with a male companion when the incident happened.

She allegedly hired the man to drive her, as she had to renew her driver’s license,

The man was on the other side of the road when the gun attack happened.

Frange’s companion sped off after the incident.

PERSONS OF INTEREST

Araño said that they have at least five persons of interest in Frange’s killing.

“They’re all subject to investigation. We are gathering evidence and testimonies on them. From there, we would do the process of elimination,” he said.

As expected, the incident could be relayed to the victim’s nature of business.

“It’s usual that she might have gone at odds with some delinquent clients,” he said.

Frange was separated from her husband with whom she has a child.
