A woman was arrested again in a police anti-narcotics operation at noon on June 13 in Oton, Iloilo.

Sharon Cantera Herrera, 53, was apprehended at her home in Barangay Trapiche, Oton.

Members of the Oton Municipal Police Station, together with the 1st Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, Iloilo Police Provincial Office – Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU), PNP Drug Enforcement Group, 4th Special Operations Unit (SOU), and PNP Maritime Group, arrested the woman after she allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P6,000.

Following her arrest, police seized four more sachets of suspected shabu and various non-drug items.

Major Abner Jordan, Oton police chief, said the seized drugs weighed around 55 grams, with a standard drug price of P374,000.

Jordan mentioned that Herrera was previously arrested for a drug-related offense in 2017. She was released from incarceration after availing of the plea-bargaining agreement in 2021.

He added that they monitored her re-engagement in the illegal drug trade in March 2024. She allegedly sourced her supply from Metro Manila.

Herrera is now detained and will be charged with a violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
