BACOLOD City – The fourth most wanted person of Las Piñas City was arrested in Talisay City, Negros Occidental last Friday.
Police operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Group Visayas Field Unit (AKG-VFU) served an arrest warrant for murder against a certain “Romeo,” a resident of Zapote Road, Almanza Uno, Las Piñas City.
The 61-year-old farm aid was arrested at Sitio Mambucano, Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City.
The arrest warrant with no bail recommended was issued by Assisting Judge Rene Deveza Natividad of Regional Trial Court Branch 107 in Los Baños, Laguna on March 11, 2022, according to a report from Police Regional Office (PRO)-6.
His apprehension which was part of COPLAN “Romeo” approved on January 11, was also in coordination with the Talisay City Police Station, and 1st Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company (Nocpmfc).
In a statement, Police Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor, PRO-6 director, commended the dedicated police personnel involved in this operation.
He emphasized the commitment to pursuing law offenders to ensure justice for the victims of crimes.
“This is proof that our police force diligently seeks those accountable for their actions, no matter where they hide,” Villaflor said, adding that this way they would be able to bring justice to the victims of criminality.
Following this development, Villaflor appealed for support in creating peaceful communities.
