LCRO Jordan leads Christmas in October program for Guimaras’ PDL during 33rd NSM

CHRISTMAS IN OCTOBER. A total of 77 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (PJMP)-Jordan receive gift packs and health services during the community service conducted by the Municipal Civil Registry Office (MCRO) of Jordan together with Guimaras Civil Registrar’s Association Inc. (GCRAI) in partnership with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office.

The Municipal Civil Registry Office (MCRO) of Jordan and Guimaras Civil Registrar’s Association Inc. (GCRAI) in partnership with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)- Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (PJMP)-Jordan provided special services, and a gift-giving activity to 77 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) in line with the 33rd National Statistics Month (NSM) celebration in the province.

“Christmas in October is a special program for the PDLs as part of the community services designed for the selected community in Jordan, through the leadership of MCR Jesusa Millondaga of Jordan,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.

“The gift-giving and provision of services for the PDLs were successfully done on October 13, 2022, through the coordinative efforts of MCR Millondaga, who took the lead in soliciting sponsorships from the following kind-hearted Officials,” Losare added.

The sponsors in LGU Jordan were Dr. Robel T. Gencianeo, Municipal Health Officer; Mr. Ramon Ganancial, Municipal Assessor; Engr. Rodolfo Gamarcha, MPDC; Mrs. Elvira T. Galanto, Municipal Treasurer; Mrs. Lolita Garque, MSWD Officer; Mrs. Marilyn Efondo, Municipal Budget Officer; SJO4 Sixto O. Bedia, Jordan District Jail Warden; Dr. N. L. Cathrel A. Nava, PHO II; San Lorenzo Officials; Mary Joy Tan, Municipal Accountant; Ms. Juliet T. Romero – SB Member; Mr. Jose Rolly T. Ramos – SB Member; Hon. Ninfa Gajo – Municipal Mayor, MCR Rosalie Abregoso; Private person: Mrs. Analie Ong – Southern Tradings; and PSA-Guimaras, also sponsored the said activity.

“Pants, T-shirts, personal hygiene, slippers, alcohol, masks, vitamins, religious items/reading materials, and notebooks for the enrollees of Alternative Learning System (ALS) were the prepared gifts for the PDL and pack of lunch and snacks”, Losare said. 

Aside from gift-giving, the PDLs also availed of free medical services from the team led by Dr. Gencianeo, and the PhilSys Guimaras Team also took the chance to register the unregistered inmates for the PhilID.

Moreover, the Municipal Civil Registrars of the five Municipalities of Guimaras also prepared several games for the PDLs to participate in and enjoy for the day.

“This activity aims to foster a sense of belonging and togetherness and to instill in the hearts of the PDLs that they are part of the society and that they deserve the services of our government, the love and care from our Civil Servants,” MCR Millondaga said.

Millondaga also expressed her gratitude to the Officials of Jordan and San Lorenzo, all sponsors of the gifts, and to the MCRs of Buenavista, Nueva Valencia, San Lorenzo, and Sibunag, to the PhilSys team and the PSA Guimaras for their support and cooperation that led to the attainment of the objectives of the activity.
