BACOLOD City – Mayor Evelio Leonardia told bashers and critics to go on with what they are doing as he will also continue with his job.
“Indi ko ya mangutos,” Leonardia said.
He said he cannot blame officials who lose their cool, especially over alleged false or fake information spreading on social media.
“We are subjected to unfair and malicious criticism,” Leonardia added.
Leonardia said he believes that there is an organized group behind the attacks against him and he already ordered an investigation on the matter.
“Sigeha nyo lang da, kay sigehon man namun amon obra kay tood-tood ni ya obra namun, out of sincerity, in our fullest capacity, mentally, physically and emotionally. My heart and soul is into this, that I can assure you wala kami Domingo, wala Sabado wala holiday,” Leonardia told reporters.
Leonardia said he and Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaranis are doing all they can to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
One of the issues being raised against his administration is the lack of COVID-19 testing kits.
Leonardia said “we are ready, willing and able to acquire them.”
But he said they are still awaiting the Department of Health’s advice, especially in putting up of a testing center at the Western Visayas Medical Center.
“We have to wait because we have to make sure that the test kits we will acquire will be compatible with the machine, otherwise it will be a total waste of money,” Leonardia said.
