Liga head shot dead in Capiz

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The president of the Liga ng mga Barangay and ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Pontevedra, Capiz was shot dead by two unidentified riding-in-tandem suspects Thursday afternoon, July 7.

Punong Barangay Frederick “Dikoy” Dullano of Brgy. Poblacion Tabuc was declared dead on arrival in a private hospital here.

According to Police Major Syril Punzalan, Pontevedra Municipal Police Station chief, they already have persons of interest in Dullano’s death whom he refused to divulge so as not to preempt their investigation.

Punzalan said they have a copy of the CCTV footage taken in the area where Dullano was shot at close range by the suspects.

Dullano was on his way home after settling two quarreling constituents in the barangay hall when the suspects shot him.

The victim managed to drive his black Montero Sport SUV away from the scene.

Two of his kagawads or council members who helped in the settlement went ahead of him on board their motorcycle.

When he reached his house at Poblacion Ilaya near the Municipal Hall, the suspects shot him again as he was about to leave his car.

Dullano is the village chief of Poblacion Tabuc but a resident of Poblacion llaya.

The police recovered from the crime scene 3 empty shells of .45 caliber ammunition and a handgun magazine.

The suspects hurriedly fled towards Brgy. Bailan also in Pontevedra town.
