ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A couple was arrested afternoon of December 17 after an anti-illegal gun operation conducted by police at Urban Poor in Brgy. Milibili here.
At around 4:45 pm, the Roxas City police operatives collared Rogenel Arroyo, 26, and Carla Macalipay, 26, both of Brgy. Sibaguan, Roxas City where the operation was conducted.
Reports from the Roxas City Police Station indicated that an undercover cop bought a .38-caliber revolver (without serial number) from Arroyo for P2,100
Also recovered from Arroyo was a sling bag with a hand grenade while taken from Macalipay was a bag with the marked money. Also recovered a live ammunition for. 38 caliber revolver and a 22-caliber bullet.
The suspects are facing cases for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act) while Arroyo will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9516 for illegal possession of explosives.
The two are presently in the custody Roxas City PNP.
