The Los Angeles Lakers proved to be too much for the Utah Jazz after obliterating them, 131-99, and clinched its third win in a row in the ongoing NBA season last November 22, 2023.
It was an outstanding scoring efficiency for the Lakers as they combined for a 56% percentage from the shooting field, 49/86, while also draining 11 total three-pointers and 22 free throws out of their 27 attempts.
Los Angeles was quickly in the driver’s seat as they opened a double-digit lead in the opening quarter, 20-9, after a Rui Hachimura conversion down the block.
From that moment, the Lakers immediately took command of the whole game and didn’t let their lead slip away until the final buzzer. Anthony Davis had another monster game after putting up 26 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Los Angeles went to Davis and made him work in several mismatches every time John Collins and Lauri Markkanen guarded him at the post.
Without the presence of their main center Walker Kessler, Utah struggled to defend the waxing- hot Davis and ended the night with an impressive 11/14 shooting from the field.
Aside from their offensive brilliance, the Lakers also out-assisted the Jazz, recording a total of 35 dimes in the dominant victory.
D’Angelo Russell finally broke out of his shooting slump and fired 20 markers for Los Angeles on 7/9 shooting including three made treys out of four total hoists.
Meanwhile, LeBron James continued his all-around performance for the Lakers and nearly tallied a triple-double with 17 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds.
The Lakers did most of their damage in the paint as they scored 76 points in the shaded lane and outrebounded Utah by 10, 52-42.
On the other hand, the Jazz got an efficient 15-point performance from Collins but needed more help as Jordan Clarkson and Markkanen had an awful shooting night, combining for 7/19 in the field.
Los Angeles will look to clinch its fourth straight victory as they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road on November 26, 2023.
