In a rare and heartfelt endorsement, Land Transportation Office Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II has recommended LTO Region 6 Director Gaudioso P. Geduspan II for the prestigious Dangal ng Bayan Award.

The award recognizes outstanding public officials and employees in the Philippines.

In a letter dated March 31 to Civil Service Commission Chairperson Marilyn B. Barua-Yap, Mendoza commended Geduspan for his unwavering adherence to the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees under Republic Act No. 6713.

Mendoza said the endorsement highlights not only Geduspan’s professional excellence but also his steadfast moral principles.

“I am truly grateful to Asec. Mendoza for his trust and recognition,” Geduspan said.

“This inspires me to continue serving with integrity and work even harder to promote road safety and ensure full compliance with our transportation laws.”

Geduspan is a graduate of the University of San Agustin College of Law and a member of the Bar since 1999.

He began his career in private practice before joining LTO Region 6 in 2003 as regional attorney.

He was promoted to assistant regional director in 2017 and regional director in 2024.

Known for promoting transparency and accountability, Geduspan has filed 23 anti-corruption cases, including charges against internal personnel.

He also modernized the agency’s digital services and introduced programs during the COVID-19 pandemic, including free theoretical driving courses and community outreach efforts.

Among his key initiatives is the creation of the Special Colorum Team, which targets illegal transport operations.

The SCT recorded more than 10 apprehensions within its first three weeks.

Geduspan also contributed to the establishment of the LTO Negros Island Region to improve regional service delivery.

His accolades include the Outstanding Professional Award in Governance and Public Service, the Katuwang Award for pandemic-related efforts and a nomination for the Ombudsman HIP Awards.

“As public servants, our leadership must be rooted in purpose and service to the people,” Geduspan said, as his nomination progresses.
