Malaysia, the previous host of the Southeast Asian Games last 2017, handed over the SEA Games flame to the Philippines, as this year’s host country.

Philippine South East Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) COO Ramon Suzara, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner Celia Kiram, and Philippine Olympic Committee board member Cynthia Carron-Norton represented the PH during the ceremony.

Olympic committee president Norza Zakaria and the Minister of Youth and Sports Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman represented the Malaysian delegation.

With a month away till the kick-off of the games, both countries look forward to a successful and smooth 2019 SEA Games.

“Despite all the challenges, issues, problems, the Philippines is ready,” Suzara stated.
