In April 2019, the Pandan Bay Institute (PBI) Batch 2000 together with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pandan, Antique, successfully hosted the first “MALUMPATI ECO-RUN 1.0” with over 200 participating runners coming together from all over the Panay Island.
The pandemic temporarily derailed the staging of its next runs but three years since, the PBI Batch 2000 believes it is high time for a comeback.
In partnership with the LGU-Pandan and the Province of Antique, “MALUMPATI ECO-RUN 2.0” is now back.
This event primarily aims to boost Eco-tourism activities in the Municipality of Pandan and raise awareness on the health benefits of running.
The half-day event will start at 3 a.m. of April 23, 2023, commencing and culminating at the Malumpati Watershed.
Pandan is a third-class municipality in the Northern tip of Antique. It is home to one of the cleanest inland bodies of water in the country, the Bugang River, as well as several beaches located along the Pandan Bay.
It is part of the Northwest Panay Peninsula National Park and a complementary destination to Boracay Island.
A portion of the proceeds of this event will go to several PBI Batch 2000 projects which include an Adopt-A-Public School Program and a tree planting activity.
