ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A depressed man who was abandoned by his family allegedly burned down their house Tuesday afternoon at Sitio Dulunan in Barangay Bolo here.
Ricardo Agrasada Jr. was arrested by police after the incident.
Investigation by the Roxas City Fire Station indicated that the house owned by Ricardo and his wife Helen Clavaton-Agrasada was razed to the ground.
According to Fire Senior Inspector Rowel Limjuco of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Roxas City, the husband intentionally set the house on fire.
Limjuco said the husband was hurt after his wife and children left him and moved to the nearby house of a relative.
Ricardo allegedly hurt Helen the reason why she left him.
A neighbor said that the suspect became depressed since then.
The family has yet to decide whether to file charges against the husband who is presently detained at the Roxas City police station.
Arson investigation said that some P200,000 worth of properties went up in smoke.
