ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 49-year-old man was arrested by authorities for carrying an unlicensed gun while inside a dance hall at Barangay Malapad Cogon, Sigma, Capiz Saturday night.
Police identified the suspect as Nilo Decain of Panit-an town.
Initial investigation by Sigma police indicated that the suspect was spotted by barangay tanod with a firearm tucked in his waist.
The tanods immediately informed the police and a .38 caliber pistol with three live ammunitions were recovered from the suspect.
Decain is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Law.
Meanwhile, a 23-year-old wanted person was arrested Saturday by the police while at Mejorada Subdivision in Barangay Inzo Arnaldo here.
Christian Valdez of Homesite in Barangay Lawaan here did not resist when members of the Roxas City police served an arrest warrant for the crime of robbery.
The arrest warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 19 Judge Esperanza Isabel Poco-Deslate on April 29, 2019.
The court recommended a P24,000 bail for Valdez’s temporary liberty.
The suspect is now detained at the lock up cell of Roxas City police station.
